2026 Earl T Shinhoster Youth Leadership Summer Institute

The Earl T. Shinhoster Youth Leadership Institute is raising up new leaders who can help meet the challenges of the 21st century and beyond. The Institute is committed to the proposition that each young person possesses within themselves the potential to be a great leader. We are preparing young people to seize leadership opportunities in their schools, neighborhoods, and religious institutions today, and in the workplace and global arena tomorrow.

The Institute was established in 2010, here in Savannah, Georgia. It is open to youth aged 12 to 16 years old. Our focus is on equipping young people with the skills necessary to become critical thinkers and creative innovators.

This summer, we are focusing on a powerful topic: Entrepreneurship: Moving from Consumer to Producer. Students will learn Learn what it means to design, create, & sell their ideas with the help of local business mentors. Young leaders will also develop several core skills:
